In 1979 I saw a puppy in a pet shop window in Long Eaton. In my pocket I had £2 that I had saved to buy a longed-for book. Somehow I convinced my parents to let me buy the puppy (yes, she cost £2!) and that's when my love for dogs was ignited.
That first dog was Suzy (1979-1993). Since then I've shared my life with Brandy (1990-2005), Barney (1999-2000), Jessie (2005-2020), Luna (2020-) and Judy (2023-). Each one of these dogs has taught me something important whether it be the power of a dog to love unconditionally, the need for patience and understanding, or that no walk is ever long enough!
